The event is scheduled for March 13, 2018, from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, and promises to expose students to the Northwest’s amazing diversity of career opportunities, along with the skills and education needed to participate in those very jobs.
Each year, the nonprofit Portland Workforce Alliance hosts and organizes the event. Ultimately, the expo is intended to help students make informed, inspired decisions about their education after high school — whether they choose a four-year university, community college or apprenticeship training center.
In 2017, we welcomed more than 6,000 students from 75-plus high schools across Oregon and southwest Washington, as well as 170-plus exhibitors representing the state’s leading employers — and we’re planning on 2018 being even bigger and more successful.
If you plan on attending the event, make sure to swing by the Construction Zone — an area of the expo that specifically focuses on careers in the construction industry — and by the Build-Oregon, Oregon AGC exhibit booth. We’ll be providing attendees with fun, informational giveaways throughout the day.
